2. Student created a Top 10 list - Traits of a Good Friend. These were shared as a class.
3. Students completed an anticipation guide which had them evaluate their attitudes about certain issues. We will revisit this guide at the end of the story.

MATH 6B
Our new unit, "Patterns and Equations" was continued today. We reviewed the concept of input rule, output rule and pattern rule. Students had 10 minutes to complete their "Patterns from Tables" poster that is due on Monday. Students were then introduced to the new topic, "Patterns from Tables." The explored various ways of figuring out the pattern rule when a table of values is provided. They discovered a "trick" for determining the pattern rule:
If the input numbers are CONSECUTIVE, and the output numbers increase by 4 each time, the first operation and number in the machine will be x4. If the input numbers are CONSECUTIVE, and the output numbers increase by 7 each time, the first operation and number in the machine will be x7. As a class, we worked through questions 1,2, and 4 from the textbook. Students completed the work on their whiteboards.
