2. Current Events were returned to students
3.  Landform projects were finished up today.

We continued our family heritage presentations today.  Well done grade 6!

3. Plotting points on a coordinate grid.  Students reviewed the process for plotting points on a coordinate grid.  The following textbook assignment was given.  It will be due tomorrow.!

Current events were due today - we corrected the crossword puzzle and the quizzes.
This was the last class to work on landform projects.  They will be due the first day back after the break.

4. Cartesian Plane - students were introduced to the Cartesian plane.

OUR DAY IN A NUTSHELL

Period One - ELA
Bridge to Terabithia - chapter 7 and 8 questions were discussed.  Students listened to chapter 9 and 10 and completed the corresponding questions and activities,

Period Two - FRENCH 6A
Students were taught Les Fetes (holidays) today.  Students were shown how to write, in sentences, the dates of each holiday.  This assignment should be done by next class.  Students were also given one of the holidays and asked to create a visual representation.

Period Three - Math 6

Applying expressions with variables to problem solving. Students were given tine to complete the assignment from yesterday (homework book 4, extra practice 4 and word problems page).

When they were done, they used the answer key to correct their own work.  Students wrote an exit slip and then had time to practice their skill by choosing activities from the classroom blog.

 

Period Four - Murder at Crooked House

The students were treated to the Sr. Drama production this afternoon.  Thank you to Mr. Marchand and the Sr. drama class for inviting us.  Bravo!!!!

Today was the LAST class for students to work on their landform assignment. It will be due on Wed. Dec. 20.  Current events is also due on Monday!

2. Students were introduced to Les Fetes (holidays).  They learned how to saw each of the days and created a visual representation of 6 of the holidays.

Student read chapter 7 and completed the chapter 5-7 question sheet.  This will be handed in for marks.  Students listened to chapter 8.

Period Two - SOCIAL 6A
Students had this period to work on their landform project and current events.  There will be one more class for the landform project.

Writing expressions using variables - students worked on three activities today:

2. Writing expressions - practice booklet (first 4 pages)

Students completed a writing activity and then went to the library to read with their buddies.

Students were introduced to our unit on the solar system.  They watched three videos - while watching the videos they wrote down key concepts and vocabulary.  The vocabulary was then classified into student created categories. 
Students then drew a title page for the unit.
