Wednesday, March 14 - Day 1

It sounds like activity day was a great day.  It also sounds like EHS students are wonderful representatives of our school! 
 
Don't forget tomorrow is early dismissal day!

HOMEWORK:
MATH
Number 6 (a, b,c) is due Friday.
ELA
"Tomorrow" poem was due on Monday....


SOCIAL
Map Skills - 6A is due on March 13 - 6B is due on March 14
Idle No More - Questions/Editorial Cartoon and map need to be completed by March 25 for 6A and March 26 for 6B.

HEALTH
AIDS - Transmission questions are due on March 21

FRENCH
No Homework (unless I still don't have your calendar)

OUR DAY IN A NUTSHELL......

ELA
Students completed a variety of activities to correspond with our study of "The Tiger's Whisker".  In groups, students:

1.  Sketched and coloured a set design
2.  Made a mask of their characters.
3.  Practised the script.
4.  Played the drama game, "Zip, Zap, Zop"

HEALTH 6B
Before we began health, students got their French tests and calendars handed back. 
Our study of HIV/AIDS continued.  Students read and answered questions on the transmission of HIV.  These questions are due on March 21.


SOCIAL 6A
"A Closer Look at Asia"  was due today.  Students were assigned "Four Letter Geography".  It is due on March 21.
The Idle No More Questions, Editorial Cartoon and map are due on March 25.We reviewed the climate regions of the world, the factors that influence climate and  the way climate influences living patterns.  Students had the rest of the class to work on the world climate map.  

MATH 6B
A mad minute kicked off the class.  We then continued looking at comparing mixed numbers and improper fractions.  We have been looking at 2 strategies.  Placing the numbers on a number line OR finding equivalent fractions with common denominators.  We worked through question 3,4 and 5 together.  Students were assigned question 6a, b, c.  This is due for Friday.

WRITING
We continued with the "Tiger's Whisker" activities from this morning.  More time will be given for these on Friday.
