OUR DAY IN A NUTSHELL......
ELA
Cycle 16 centres were handed in today. We corrected the spelling centre and the newspaper centre together. Students then had the rest of the class to type their "A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words". There will be more time to work on this later this week.We looked at comparing improper fractions and mixed numbers. Students have a handout that guides them in using two different strategies. The first is placing the numbers on a number line. The second is finding an equivalent fraction with common denominators. ONLY the first page of the handout was assigned.l
SOCIAL 6A
Idle No More - students worked on the map. The booklet in its entirety is due on March 25.
We then continued our study of climate. Students worked on the "World Climate Zones" assignment. The are identifying each of the numbered climate regions, colouring the climate regions on the map AND writing a brief description of each climate region. There will be time to work on this on Wednesday. It is due on Friday.
Don't forget that map skills, "A Closer Look at South America" is due on Wednesday, March 6.
