This class was devoted to learning about Canadian hero, Terry Fox.  Students completed a KWL chart (what I know, what I want to know and what I learned), we read the text together and then time was given to work through the activities.  This is due on Friday, September 21.

MATH 6B
Students were given a hand in assignment on expanded form.  This was completed during class time.  Students have grasped this concept easily.  We then moved on to comparing and ordering numbers.  We discussed the math language greater than, less than, least to greatest, greatest to least and median.  An assignment on comparing and ordering numbers (page 10 #1-18) was assigned.  It is due tomorrow!

SOCIAL 6B
This was 6B's regular science class, but we have lost of couple classes due to the Terry Fox run and the assembly, so we needed a catch up class.  Students were introduced to their current events packages which will be done on a monthly basis.  No due date has been given yet.  Students will get 20 minutes every day 4 and 6 to work on these.  These should go home over the course of the month!

ELA 6B
Students were introduced to our unit on Tales.  A word web was created and students wrote down words and phrases as they watched four videos, "Turkey Girl", "The Grasshopper and the Ant", "Pandora's Box" and "Jason and the Golden Fleece"  We discussed the word web after each video and students added to their webs.

RTI
Students worked on their current events,  centres, math homework, the Terry Fox reading package and map skills. Teacher passes were given to students working on practising multiplication facts.

French 6B
Oral presentations reinforcing the new vocabulary were finished during the first part of class.  Les Nombres (numbers) were the focus of the rest of the class.  Students were given a numbers booklet in which they highligted the "important" numbers.  These are the ONLY numbers that will be needed to say or write any French number.  After highlighting, students created a reference page.
