ELA 6B
We played "Two Truths and a Lie" for 2 students.
Students listened to our read aloud, "Loser".
Class ended with time to work on our writing assignment "My Fears and Excitements" A sample writing assignment was modelled for students. We discussed topic sentences, paragraph structure, and word choice. Be thoughtful in your writing. These are due tomorrow. We will be typing them during period 1!
Library Tour
Our teacher librarian, Mrs. Parsons, gave us a library tour and oriented us to the library. Students were given an opportunity to choose a book and begin reading. Thank you Mrs. Parsons!!!
Social 6A (6B had Science with Mrs. Unchulenko - check her blog for details)
A class introductions and course outline was given. Atlases were distributed to students. These are on loan and must be kept in good condition. We also played a short geography game to test students country knowledge.
Math 6B
Students completed their second mad minute. EVERY STUDENT IN OUR CLASS SHOWED IMPROVEMENT. Way to go grade 6!!
Our first problem solver was introduced. "Make or Use a Table". Students began to solve the problem. More time will be provided during tomorrow's class.
Students were given a Math Operations Review which will show the students ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. This will serve as a benchmark. This will also be finished during tomorrow's class.
RTI
Students worked on their writing assignment, the Problem Solver that was assigned in Math and their Map Skills during RTI time.
French 6B
Our first class consisted of a course introduction and our first oral activity. Students learned Je m'appelle ..... Comment t'appelles-tu? and Comment vous appelez-vous? A written assignment ended the class. Everyone completed this during class time.
