We had a busy second day of school. Here's our "day in a nutshell":
Homeroom/Housekeeping Items
Student fees, caution fees, picture forms and Student information forms were collected from students. Thank you to everyone with being prompt with this. There are about a third of the students left to bring these things in!
Students were given their agendas today. They are encouraged to take this home with them, along with their homework folder EVERY day. This is a key tool for communciation between home and school!
ELA 6B
Students completed their "Two Truths and a Lie" activity. We will be sharing these over the course of the next few days. Students than had time to organize their ELA (blue) binders. Our read aloud, "Loser" was introduced to students. Finally, students began their first writing assignment, "My Fears and Excitements". This will be a benchmark writing assignment that will demonstrate the students' writing abilities. Students will have more time to work on this tomorrow.
MATH 6B
Our math class began with a course introduction and binder organization. Students completed a "Mad Minute" and a "Multiplication Conditioning". These will be done daily to reinforce basic math skills.

A class introductions and course outline was given. Atlases were distributed to students. These are on loan and must be kept in good condition. We played a short geography game and then got to work on our first map skills of the year. STUDENTS WILL HAVE A MAP SKILLS DUE EVERY DAY 2. The first map skills is called, "Continental Quest".
