Notes/Reminders for Today
  • SOCIAL heritage fair will be held oTOMORROW, June 20 from 1:00-3:30.  Everyone is welcome to come and check it out! 
  • Mrs. Hearn had to cancel the grade 6 band recruitment at Gillen on Friday, June 22. Many students were disappointed in the cancellation, so we have decided to make the trip to Carlton Trail anyway and make this a grade 6 trip. We will leave the school at 10:30, enjoy swimming, games and a barbeque and return to the school by 3:15. PLEASE BRING YOUR $5 TO YOUR HOMEROOM TEACHER!!!!!
  • ESA Gallager Swimming Party permission forms were due TODAY by noon
  • Upcoming Assignments:
    • Poetry Slam - poem needs to be memorized by tomorrow.  Performace will be June26
    • Ma Famille Project - Presentations June 26 and 17 
  • If you are going to be away next week, please email me your Ma Famille project by June 26 and be prepared to do your poetry slam on Thursday, June 21.

Period 1 - ELA 6B
Students had this class to work on their James Rizzi inspired art work.  Students sketched their rough draft onto card stock and then went over the pencil with oil pastels.  This was to be completed in RTI if it was not completed during class time.  We will be painting them later this week.  DON'T FORGET YOUR  POEMS MUST BE MEMORIZED BY TOMORROW!!!!

Period 2 - Math 6B

The assignment on naming angles was corrected as a class.  Students seem to have a good handle on understanding acute, right, obtuse, straigh and reflex angles.  THE HAND IN ASSIGNMENT WAS ALSO DUE.  THIS NEEDS TO BE HANDED IN IF YOU WERE ABSENT.

The rest of the class was devoted to learning about measuring angles.  STudents were introduced to the protractor and were given a demonstration on how to use the protractor.  They also watched a video on measuring angles and had an opprotunity to practice.  The video link is posted below.  Textbook assignment on page 36 was given #1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9  ONLY 1 AND 2 WERE ASSIGNED FOR HOMEWORK. 

Period Three -French 6A (6B had gym with Ms. Chewka)
Students worked on their Ma Famille Project in the library lab. There will be 1 more class to complete this. Presentations will be done on June 26 and 27.

Period Four - Social 6B

Students continued to work on preparing their heritage fair presentation. TODAY WAS THE LAST CLASS!!!  Please make sure you have the following READY TO GO FOR TOMORROW!!!!

1. Tri-fold board display

2. Language dictionary

3. A minimum of 2 interactive items

4. Oral component

OUR HERITAGE FAIR WILL BE HELD ON JUNE 20 FROM 1:00 TO 3:00!!!
