Notes/Reminders for Today
  • SOCIAL heritage fair will be held on June 20 from 1:00-3:30.
  • Mrs. Hearn had to cancel the grade 6 band recruitment at Gillen on Friday, June 22. Many students were disappointed in the cancellation, so we have decided to make the trip to Carlton Trail anyway and  make this a grade 6 trip.  We will leave the school at 10:30, enjoy swimming, games and a barbeque and return to the school by 3:15.  PLEASE BRING YOUR $5 TO MRS. HEARN IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY DONE SO!!!!! 
  • ESA Gallager Swimming Party permission forms are due tomorrow by noon
  • The following assignments are overdue for some students:
    • Friendly Letter
    • Social Dictionary
    • Math - There are several late assignments....
  • Other assignments that you can be working on are:
    • Poetry Slam
    • Ma Famille Project

Period 1 - ELA 6B
We started the class with Spelling Discovery from Friday.  Several assignments were then handed back to students.  The remainder of the class was devoted to memorizing the poems for th epoetry slam which will be on Tuesday, June 28 during period 5.  POEMS MUST BE MEMORIZED BY WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20!!!!!


Period 2 - CWE

Students participated in a variety of activities that demonstrated good communication skills.  We discussed the qualities of active listeners.  If you were absent, you can read page 84 and 85 and think about the activity questions.

 Period Three -French 6B
Students worked on their Ma Famille Project in the library lab. There will be 2 more classes to complete this. Presentations will be done on June 26 and 27.

Period Four - Math

Students learned about angles.  Students defined what an angle is and the parts of an angle. (ray, vertex) and then looked at the difference between acute, abtuse, right, straight and reflex angles.

Students were given a textbook assignment (pp. 137 and 128 #1,2,5,7) and hand in asssignment.  Both are due tomorrow.

Period Five - Social 6A

Students continued to work on preparing their heritage fair presentation.  TODAY WAS THE LAST CLASS!!!

4. Oral component

OUR HERITAGE FAIR WILL BE HELD ON JUNE 20 FROM 1:00 TO 3:00!!!
