Period One - ELA
Students listened to the centre explanation for our next round of centres that will begin tomorrow. Fountas and Pinnell testing will be completed during centre time this week. Students listened to Chapter 12 of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.
Period Two -CWE
Students continued their career exploration looking at the theme, "Who Am I?" Students read the case study, "Jake's Story" and completed four discussion questions as a group. We spent the rest of the class completing an interest inventory. Students determined whether they were a "Hands-On" person, "People" person or an "Information" person. We have many "hands on" students in our class!
Period Three -Writing 6B
Students completed two tasks today. The first was to complete the Chapter 11 and 12 questions for the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. These questions are due tomorrow!!
The second was to complete the friendly letter writing assignment. In this task, students are to take on the point of view of Susan, Edmund, Lucy or Peter and write a letter describing their journey so far. They were reminded to use the proper voice, make good word choice, use transition words and follow the proper format for a friendly letter. There will be more time to work on this.
