Friday, April 27 - Day 3

Notes/Reminders for Today
  • Math Test TODAY IN PERIOD FOUR
  • A band intention form was sent home today with students.  PLEASE COMPLETE AND RETURN THIS FORM ON MONDAY, APRIL 30!
  • Grade 6 students will be helping with town clean up on Monday May 14 with an alternate day of May 25. Permission slips will be coming home shortly. PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGE!!!!!
  • SHOWCASE FORMS WERE DUE TODAY. You need to bring them in even if you are NOT attending the meet!
  • Please bring $5.00 to cover the cost of the tri-fold board that will be used in our social Cultural Fair
9:00 - 10:30 - Centres
Students completed day 2 of cycle 19 centres today. A summary of the centres is listed below. 
IF YOU WERE ABSENT, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO PICK UP AND COMPLETE THE CENTRES YOU MISSED TODAY.

ALL CENTRE ACTIVITIES WILL BE DUE ON MAY 2!!!

10:30 - 11:00 - CWE 6B
We looked at a definition of a career today.  We read page 14-16 together and discussed the career word web.  Students were to write down the definition of a career, copy the career web from page 15 and complete questions 1 and 2 on page 16.  This is due on Thursday, May 3.  If you were absent, the textbook pages are photocopied and attached to your homework package.

 
Period Three -French 6B
We finished our review of er verbs.  Students were given an er verb assignment page.  For this assignmnet, students must fill in the blanks with the correct form of the verb AND translate 10 of the sentences into English.  The fill in the blanks portion of the assingment is due on Tuesday, May 1.

Period Four - Math 6B
Students wrote their Math test during this period.  IF YOU WERE ABSENT, YOU WILL WRITE THIS TEST ON MONDAY AT NOON. 

RTI - Students used RTI time to complete centre activities, finish the CWE assignment from this morning, complete the French ER verb page, redo their creative writing centre if requested, complete their food research for their Social project, practice their narration of their PhotoStory or read independently.
Teacher passes went to students recording their Photostory and finishing their math test.

Period Five- Social 6A - (6B had Science with Ms. Smart - check her blog for details)
  1. Oral Speaking practice - students shared the name and location of their tribe with the rest of the class to practice good presentation skills.
  2. Students had time to complete their map and their food research.  Both of these are due on Tuesday, May 1.

Don't forget to bring $5 to cover the cost of the Tri-fold board.
