Tuesaday, March 27 - Daty 5

CYCLE 17 CENTRES ARE DUE TOMORROW!! Please check the March 20 blog for a description of centre activities.  The Math Centre - "Decimal Rodeo" is not due.  We will continue to work on this during Cycle 18 centres.

May 14 - Mark this date on your calendars.  The grade 6 students will be participating in the Esterhazy Town Clean Up.  This is our way of giving back to our community!  More information will follow at a later date.

TACO SALAD LUNCH WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY AT NOON.  COST IS $5.00.

9:00 - 9:30 - Assigment Completion and Hand-Back
Several assignments were handed back to students.  These assignments were filed in the appropriate binders.  Students that have incomplete assignments worked with Mrs. Porter on getting caught up.

9:30 - 10:30 - HOJA
Students were treated to a performance by HOJA.  It was a great show!!! 

10:30 - 11:00 - Reading Buddies
Students had reading buddies in the PPEP room today. 

Period Three - French/Social 6B
Students were divided into two groups.  Group One went to the computer lab to work on their French calendars while Group Two corrected map skills, "Four Letter Geography" and began a new one, "A Closer Look:  Asia"  This new map skills will be due on March 30.  Students switched activities for the last half of the class.

1:20 - 2:20 - Math 6B
We continued to look at multiplying decimals.  Students have been shown a variety of strategies for estimating products and quotients and for multiplying decimals.  Students have the option to the strategy that works the best for them. There is no homework for today. 

2:25 - 3:25 - Social 6A
"The Benefits of Treaty"writing assignment was given back to students.  Students then had a few minutes to work on  current events and/or map skills. Current Events will be due on April 4.  and map skills, "A Closer Look :  Asia" is due on Wednesday, March 21!!!
The remainder of the class was devoted to learning about the Development of Western Canada.  Students are going back in history to the time BEFORE there was contact between the First Nations and the Europeans and understanding what life was like.    We will continue this next day!

IMPORTANT NOTE:  FRENCH CALENDARS WILL BE DUE ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4 FOR BOTH GRADE 6 CLASSES!
