Mythical Creature Research assignments were due today. Thank you for getting these in on time. A couple of students need to have these completed by tomorrow! A variety of assignments were handed back to students and filed in their binders. We began our next writing assignment....."Heroes, Deeds and Wonders" Students are writing a story with themselves as the here. Rough drafts should be completed by tomorrow!

MATH 6B
The prime and composite numbers assignment (HW Book 5) was due today. Students handed these in. We completed our study of prime and composite numbers with a senteo quiz. We then started factors. Students watched a video, defined the word factor and made some factor rainbows. See the link below to view the videos. (You must click on Lessons and then go to Multiples and Factors lesson)

1. Current Events - students had time to work on their October Current Events package. Don't forget these are due on November 1
2. We began a new unit, "Celebrating People and Places" Students looked at photographs and captions to help them understand how geography can shape a place.

This was a bit of hodgepodge class.
1. Students listened to a chapter of our read aloud.
2. Students finished the "Math rainbow" assignment that was introduced in period 2. Students created a math factor rainbow for the numbers 18 and 24.
3. Students handed in their J'aime booklet.
4. L'halloween booklets were worked on next.
5. Students were also given the opportunity to work on centres or hero stories.

CYBER-BULLYING PRESENTATIONS
Students listened to a presentation on cyber-bullying by retired police officer, Brian Trainor. It was an excellent presentation that increased awareness of the dangers of cyberbullying.

Students had reading buddies during RTI as they missed it due to the presentation in period 4.
