STudents worked on "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe" independently today. The assignment was to finish reading Chapter 5 and 6 and complete the comprehension questions. This is due tomorrow! When students were done, they had time to finish any centre activities in preparation for the due date tomorrow! The rest of the time could be used for completing overdue assignments or reading independently.
Period Two - Math
We corrected the due hand-in pages that were due yesterday.
We then watched a video on comparing fractions. This is an introduction to the basic concept of comparing proper fractions. Once students have a good understanding of this, we will begin comparing Improper Fractions and Mixed Numbers. A link to the video can be found below. We corrected the ir verb page that was due today. If you were absent, an answer key is attached to your homework package. We looked at conjugating re verbs. Students were given 2 hand in sheets on re verbs. These are due on Tuesday, May 15!
Period Four - DARE Presentation
Constable Jessie gave the grade 6 students a DARE presentation today. Thank you so much - we learned a lot and students are sure to be positive decision makers!
Period Five - Social 6A (6B had science with Ms. Smart - check her blog for details)
Students worked on completing their research on female roles and began their research on children. Research on female roles is due for next class (Friday). Thanks to the students that have brought $5 for the tri-fold board. Please get this in as soon as possible. As we complete our research, students will begin creating their presentation!
