REPORT CARDS WENT HOME TODAY!!!!!

Notes/Reminders for Today
Ø Early Dismissal Day is on Thursday. Students are dismissed at 11:57!!!
Ø PARENT –TEACHER INTERVIEWS WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 18 AND THURSDAY, APRIL 19 FROM 3:30 – 7:00. I LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING WITH YOU!!!!
Ø Math Test on Decimals – Tuesday, April 24
Ø Please bring $5.00 to cover the cost of the tri-fold board that will be used in our social Cultural Fair
Period One-  ELA 6B
Students were introduced to their PHOTOSTORY PROJECTwhich corresponds with our Social Culutral Fair.  Students were shown how to create a digital storybook using the Photostory program.  We made a classroom story togehter to model the process.  It was a lot of fun and we ended up with a great keepsake!


Period Two - Math 6B

Students continued their study of decimals.  We watched a video on dividing decimals (the link is found below).  Go to lesson, Multiplication and Division of Decimals and watch lessons 6, 7, 8, and 9

We did several practice exercises together and students were given the following textbook assignment:

Page 106 - 1c,d, 2bdf, 3cef, 4bcef, 5b, c
This is NOT homework.  We will continue it tomorrow.

Period Three - Writing 6B
Students read their First Nation legend and started planning the storyboard for their Photostory.  Using alternating colours, students highlight the content they want on each frame of their digital story and then jot down ideas of images for each frame.  We will be started to look for images tomorrow.

Period Four - Social 6A (6B had Science-see Ms. Smart's blog for details)
Current Events that were due before the break were returned to students. We will not be doing a current event package this month.Students were introduced to the social project that they will be working on over the next 6 weeks. Students are researching a pre-contact indigenous group and are preparing a cultural fair display to share in our cultural fair that will be held at the end of May. Students are asked to bring $5.00 to cover the cost of a tri-fold board.

RTI - today's teacher pass went to students practising division of decimals using long division.  This will be our focus of the week.

Period Five - CWE 6B

We continued our topic, "I Always Have Choices".  We discussed logical thinking and intuition when making decisions.  Students completed an activity called, "Leave It to Chance".  We will share these next class.  If you were absent, the page is attached.
