9:00-10:30 - Centres
Today was Day 1 of centres. If you were away today, please ensure that you get caught up on the centres you missed.
10:35 - 11:10 - Health 6B
Students were introduced to their stereotype assignment. The will be creating a "Wanted" poster for a stereotypical TV character. The poster must follow the required criteria as set out in the assignment. We will work on this more on Friday.
11:15 - 12:15 - Writing 6B
We continued working on our personal narratives. We examined a few student writing samples and talked about writing effective topic sentences, closing sentences and conclusions. Students were being very "thoughtful" about their writing today. Once they believed they were done writing, students were asked to go through their writing highlighting their topic sentences, body sentences and closing sentences, asking themselves if they were pleased with what they'd written. The results of this assignment will be wonderful!
1:20:2:20 - Math 6B
We corrected the divisibility rules assignment that was due today.
Students started working on Problem Solver 13. This problem solver focussed on the strategy, "Use or Make a Picture or Diagram" and had students think about the concept of area. We will continue to work on this during tomorrow's math class.
2:25-3:25 - Social 6B
Students had two assignments due today. Please get these handed in if you were absent today.
1. Current Events
2. My Story: Vinicius's Game Plan.
Map Skills - students were assigned "All Wet", focussing on bodies of water. THIS IS DUE ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8.
Latitude - students were introduced to the concept of latitude, terminology associated with latitude and important lines of latitude. We completed the first 2 pages of the latitude booklet.
