Students are working on their calendar projects.  There will be ONE MORE CLASS to work on this.  This will be due on March 7.  As well there will be a calendar test on March 7.

OUR DAY IN A NUTSHELL......

ELA

Students began cycle 15 centres due today. ALL CENTRE ACTIVITIES are due on Monday, March 4.  Keep working on the independent reading activities as well!

HEALTH 6B
Students continued working on the unit on transmission of incurable infections. We corrected the booklet that was completed after the HIV and AIDS video.  Students began a journal activity on how it might feel to be different.

SOCIAL 6A
Students were assigned a map skills, "A Closer Look at South America"  This is due on Monday, March 4.We then looked at a current event story, "Idle No More".  We read the story together and discussed the concepts and terminology related to the article.

MATH 6B
Mad Minute kicked off the class.  Noone's brain turned to mush over the holidays....YAY!2.  Tests were handed back and students filed their decimal unit.  Students can earn bonus marks if they bring back a signed test tomorrow!!!3.  We began our unit on Fractions, Ratio and Percent.  Students learned about "Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions". Students watched a video which can be viewed below, completed two pages on Mixed numbers and then began adding the terms improper fraction, mixed number, numerator and denominator to their math glossary.

Students had time to work on their health journal activity during the first part of class.  The rest of the time was devoted to working through the paragraph and sentence fluency booklet.  We completed pages
