Thursday, October 4, - Day 5

Reminders:
Picture orders may be handed in until Friday at noon!
CENTRES ARE DUE OCTOBER 9.  tHIS INCLUDES THE MAIN IDEA BOOKLET.
Social Homework: CURRENT EVENTS ARE DUE THIS WEEK! 6A: Thursday, October 4 and 6B Friday, October 5  THIS IS TOMORROW!!!!
 

HEALTH HOMEWORK: Good Grooming Posters are due on October 9!
ELA 6B
Students wrote a division directed reading assessment during this period.  If you were absent, you will write this tomorrow.
 


MATH 6B
We continued our study of multiples.  We looked at fining common multiples on a 100s chart.  Students worked through the handout they were given yesterday as a practice.  (All but the last question were completed).  Students were then issued textbooks and given the following assignment

(page 56 #1c,d and #2c,d)

SOCIAL 6A (6B had Science)
Our first current events package was due today.  Thank you to the 19/24 students that had this completed. 
We continued our look at globes and the earth.  We read page 11 of the booklet together as a class and then did a couple of Smartboard activities on the continents and oceans of the world.  The following assignment was given:

Page 17 - do questions 1 and 4
Page 12,13,14,15 - read the information provided and answer the questions.
Page 16 - Map assignment - label and colour the continents and oceans of the world.

All of the above, excluding the map are due tomorrow.

Reading Buddies/Read Aloud
I was away for the afternoon.  Students read to their reading buddies and listened to the read aloud.

RTI
Studentsused the time to work on current events packages, centre activities, or health posters.

FRENCH 6B
Students worked on "Les Nombres" today in preparation for a test next week (Oct. 11)

  1. Paperwork - students have 4 pages they are working on. These are  homework for tomorrow. 
  2. Whiteboard practice - students practised writing down the "must know numbers" on their whiteboards.
  3. When students were done, they went to the computers to work on "Les Nombres" activities from the links found on the classroom blog


We will do another day of Number Centres next class
