DESCRIPTIVE WRITING ASSIGNMENT AND EDITING CHECKLISTS NEEDED TO BE HANDED IN TODAY!!!

This was Day 3 of Cycle 16 centres. An overview of the centres can be found on the blog posting for Monday, March 12. ALL CENTRE ACTIVITIES ARE DUE ON TUESDAY, MARCH 20.
10:30 - 11:10 - Math 6B
The textbook assignment on Estimating Products and Quotients. (Page 94 #1-7) was correctd during this period.
11:15-12:15 - French 6B - Catch -up Class
Students had this class to work on the following assignments:
1. Descriptive Writing - My Favourite Place. This needed to be completed, printed and handed in with the editing checklist.
2. French calendar - all requirements needed to be completed for next French class (months of the year, days of the week, 10 birthdays, one holiday per month, two weather descriptors per month, and the seasons).
3. Social - Benefits of Treaty writing assignment. The introduction needs to be completed for tomorrow's class.
4. Centres - students were to work on any incomplete assignments.
5. Current Events/Map Skills - students could choose to work on either of these assignments.
6. All the Right Type
1:20 - 2:20 - Math 6B
Students had time to complete the Hand-In assignment for Estimating Products and Quotients. This is due tomorrow!
We began our study of multiplying decimals using a whole number. We looked at a couple of different strategies for multiplying decimal numbers and watched a video that helped explain the process of regrouping. We watched the first 5 lessons of the attached video (Go to lessons and then multiplication and division of decimals)

Students worked on current events for 20 minutes. These are due on April 4.Students continued working on their writing assignment on the benefits of treaty. A sample writing assignment was modelled for the students before they proceeded to the lab for work time. We will continue this next class.
