Monday, March 19, 2012 - Day 5

TOMORROW IS EHS SCHOOL SPIRIT DAY.  WEAR YOUR EHS CLOTHING OR COME DRESSED IN OUR SCHOOL COLOURS!!!

Period One - Math
We continued our study of multiplication of decimals.  Students watched a Math Live video looking at the multiplication of decimals pictorially and symbolically.  Students completed a few practice questions to reinforce this new concept.  No homework.

Period Two - Grade 6 Band Festival
Congratulations grade 6 on your festival performance today! The band recieved marks of 85 and 83 for an average of 84.  Good work!

Period Three - French 6B
Students were introduced to important dates, activities and sports and how to say them in French. Students will begin  entering these important events on their calendars next class. Students must have a minimum of 10 DIFFERENT activities.

1:20 - 2:20 - ELA 6B

Students listened to the read aloud, "The Amazing ISS".  We are concentrating on during reading strategies.  Students wrote a journal entry on what they predict they will learn in this text.
We then spent some time listening to the students' descriptive writing pieces.  Thank you, grade 6, for taking us to your favourite place!

2:25 - 3:25 - Social 6A
Students had this class to work on their writing assignment, "The Benefits of Treaty". This will be due on Friday, March 23. There will be 15 minutes to work on this next class. If students completed the assignment, they had time to work on current events. Current Events will be due on April 4. Don't forget that map skills, "Four Letter Geography is due on Wednesday, March 21!!!
