3. Polygons - students learned the definition of a polygon, the difference between regular and irregular polygons and what convex and concave polygons are.  No homework was assigned

Students kicked off their mini unit on Ma Famille

    - we watched a teaching video

    - students learned family vocabulary and completed the first page of the booklet

Period 3 -ELA 6B

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - students kicked off our novel study today.  We listened to chapter 1 and 2 together and completed the questions and activities for these chapters.  This is due tomorrow

 Period 4 - SCIENCE 6B

1. Fixing Electrical Problems - students had time to write their "Mr Ohm" letter

2. Electrical safety - students watched a series of videos, did a textbook reading and then began working on a poster assignment.  We will finish these next day.

Period 1 - MATH 6B

3. Naming Triangles by side AND angle

        - the practice booklet from yesterday was corrected together

        - students practised classifying triangles on Venn Diagrams - we completed some on the smartboard together.  Then students did a partner activity.  Finally, students completed a handin assignment

   

Period 2 and 3 - HODGEPODGE

Students completed the following in no particular order

 1.  Constable Herring came in and spoke with the students about online safety

2. Students completed their "Silly Collaborative Art Activity" from the balloon countdown

3. Students had their last class to prepare for their Page to Stage performances which will now be done on Monday

4. We played a couple of drama games

5. Students were introduced to their next French topic, "Ma Famille"

 Period 4 - SOCIAL 6B

1. Last week's map skills was corrected together.  Students completed a new one.  It is due on June 13.

2. Latitude and Longitude - the first 4 pages of the booklet were corrected together.  Students continued working through the practice pages.

The lab and booklet on series and parallel circuits was discussed together.

Students began their look at Fixing electrical problems.  They did a troubleshooting activity and then began a "Write a Letter" assignment to identify an electrical problem.
