Our Day in a Nutshell

Today was Track and Field Day.  Only a few grade 6 students were still at school today.  We spent the day doing the following:

1.  Work Time - students had time to work on a variety of assignments:

    - science circuit symbol poster

    - incomplete centers

    - missing assignments 

    - map skills

    - longitude booklet

    - Under One Sun reflection questions

  

2. Locker and Homework Folder Clean Out

3. Math - we continued our look at angles

    - students did some whiteboard challenges on their whiteboards

    - we did a measuring angles scavenger hunt

    - we ended with an angles in a Triangle Blooket

3. We joined grade 7 to do a "Write it up" activity and play a round of musical chairs

4. Social

    - students practised their knowledge of latitude and longitude with some practice pages and a blooket

    - they watched an episode of the world from A to Z

    - Currents4Kids was explored

5. Science

    - more time for posters was given

    - students did an electrical symbols practice test

    - we practised drawing electrical circuits using the correct symbols

    - students played a circuit blooket

6. Choice time - if all of the above is completed, students could grab a game from the library to play or choose an activity on their chromebooks

7.  We wrapped up our day with a walk for slushies
